Laser Retro Projector – TechAU Review

Posted by Jason Cartwright ,1st Sep 2025

Laser’s Retro Gaming Projector has been featured in TechAU, where journalist Jason Cartwright highlights how the device brings arcade nostalgia to modern homes.

This all-in-one entertainment hub comes pre-loaded with over 80 officially licensed retro games, spanning racing, sports, platformers, shooters, puzzles and more. It also includes emulator support for NES, SNES, Mega Drive, Sega Genesis, N64, Game Boy and more — letting gamers revisit their favourites on the big screen.

Out of the box, the projector ships with two wireless controllers, a remote and a 120-inch cloth screen. Powered by Android OS, it also functions as a streaming device with access to the Google Play Store for apps, games and entertainment.

As Chris Lau, Managing Director of Laser, explains: “We’re thrilled to launch a product that brings the joy of retro gaming to Aussie homes, with over 80 licensed games ready to play straight out of the box. Just in time for Father’s Day, this is the perfect gift for anyone looking to relive their arcade days or introduce loved ones to the classics.”

The Laser Retro Gaming Projector (Black) is available now in Australia for $299 through Harvey Norman, Bing Lee, and Retravision. In New Zealand, it is available at Noel Leeming.
